How to Measure Your Pupillary Distance (PD) at Home
While your eye doctor usually provides your PD measurement with your prescription, sometimes it’s not included. No worries - you can easily measure your PD yourself from the comfort of home!
Here’s how:
- Stand about 8 inches (20 cm) away from a mirror.
- Hold a millimeter ruler firmly against your brow, keeping your face straight and level.
- Close your right eye.
- Align the ruler’s zero mark with the center of your left pupil.
- Without moving your head, close your left eye and open your right eye.
- The number on the ruler that lines up with the center of your right pupil is your PD measurement in millimeters.
For best results, repeat this process a few times and take the average.
